This fundraiser supports the initial launch costs for the California Commonsense Health Institute (the nonprofit) and the early legal/administrative requirements to advance the California Commonsense Healthcare System (CCH) ballot measure. Every dollar is directed toward the foundational setup: nonprofit formation, PAC compliance, legal counsel, and ballot-measure filing/registration.
Establishing a compliant nonprofit entity so we can operate transparently, open accounts, accept donations properly, and conduct public education and outreach.
Creating a compliant political committee structure for ballot-measure advocacy and ensuring reporting, disclosure, and campaign finance requirements are handled correctly from day one.
Legal review to reduce risk, refine language, and ensure the nonprofit/PAC roles are properly separated. This is critical for ballot-measure viability and compliance.
Direct costs tied to submitting and registering the ballot measure and completing required procedural steps.
Essential infrastructure to track funds and maintain strong compliance and transparency.
We will post periodic updates summarizing expenses by category (Nonprofit, PAC, Legal, Filing, Tools). If any line item costs less than expected, remaining funds will be reallocated to the closest related compliance need (e.g., additional legal review, filing requirements, or mandated reporting tools).
Important: This $14,000 budget covers launch and registration groundwork. It does not include future signature gathering, advertising, staffing, or large-scale campaign operations.
